Where can I find information about commission increases and hierarchy changes?
You can find this information in the Commission & Hierarchy Resources section in HQ: Commissions and Hierarchy.
-
How can I audit my hierarchy and confirm licensing, contracting, and overrides are accurate?
To access the carrier-provided information to cross-check HQ, please use this step-by-step guide.
- What should I do if I suspect that there is an inaccuracy with the carrier concerning my hierarchy’s commission or hierarchy setup?
- With some carriers being tiered (clustering certain commission levels together), review the Commission Grid in HQ.
- Review with your AO and/or agency administrator for verification.
- If you find a discrepancy, submit a ticket to Contracting and include:
- Full legal names for all agents involved/impacted
- Dates impacted
- Whether it is a commission and/or hierarchy schedule discrepancy
- Carrier name(s)
- Policy number(s)
- Percentage(s) Paid; if applicable
NOTE: Backpay is only available for policies from the last 90 days. If another agent received the override, a reversal will be issued.
4. I want to change my upline/an agent has requested to move downlines. How do I do that?
A hierarchy change form will need to be submitted by the releasing AO. To obtain the form, please submit a support ticket and include:
- Transferring Agent’s (agent to move hierarchies) name and SFG Code
- Original upline’s name and SFG Code
- New upline’s name and SFG Code (if available)
5. What is the Slingshot Bonus? How do I qualify?
The Slingshot promotion is designed to help new agents accelerate up the promotion guidelines from level 80-95 in half the time based on their Net Placed Premium.
NOTE: Please view Page View || Quility for further details on the slingshot bonus and Carrier Kickers
6. An agent resigned or was terminated but has a downline. What’s next?
Be sure to also submit the Inheriting Downline Request Form to reassign the downline appropriately.
NOTE: May ONLY be used in this circumstance and is highly suggested to submit this form immediately after an upline has left to avoid any potential confusion(s) down the road. These types of forms can take additional time to process, depending on the number of agents to be transferred.
7. Am I required to release my downlines should I be promoted to 110% on the producer track?
Yes, at the point you promote to 110% using the ProTrack promotion guidelines, you will be required to release your downline to your immediate upline. You will be required to sign a hierarchy release form.
8. Promotion Qualification/Request Forms
Used to shift an agent to a specific level. Typically, 5% higher than their current.
Please refer to the Agent Hierarchy Management Resources section of the Agent Hierarchy Management support in HQ: Common Solutions || Quility
9. Commission Decrease Request Form
Used to decrease the commission level for a downline agent. This must be signed by the current upline.
10. When nominating an agent for a promotion, can I use the total of the snapshot for the qualified premium?
When nominating an agent for a promotion, you can use the total of the snapshot for the qualified premium. However, please note that any premium amount over $7500 must be capped. To assist you in reviewing the premium for the promotion, we recommend using the Placed Policies feature in HQ. This tool will provide you with a detailed overview and help ensure accuracy in your nomination process.
11. What is the processing time for my commission and/or hierarchy changes?
Quility’s timeframe for any standard commission and/or hierarchy change is typically two business days after being submitted. After a Snapshot has been released, the timeline changes to three to five business days. Inheriting downline changes may take slightly longer depending on their size, but tend to be fulfilled within three business days of its receipt.
NOTE: Commission changes that require approval (≥105%) are immediately sent over to the Senior Director of Business Intelligence and processed within 24 to 48 business hours after their approval.
Carrier changes are sent directly to their contracting team or point-of-contact; therefore, carriers may have them processed and finalized anywhere between 24 to 48 business hours or even up to several weeks later – this varies by carrier.
12. Whenever I receive a promotion with the carriers, will all my downline, particularly those at my former level, automatically follow or be transitioned beneath me?
- Any agent previously direct to you at the carrier level will move with you whenever you receive a promotion, except for tiered carriers like AIG, Mutual Trust, Lafayette, etc. These carriers may require realignment at certain promotion levels, which can be submitted as a ticket request to the Contracting department.
- Will agents who were at my former level automatically move direct to me at the carrier level? No, agents who previously shared the same commission level as you will need to be moved direct to you using the hierarchy change form, which can be found here: SFG Hierarchy Change Form (jotform.com).
13. Why isn’t my agent’s new commission level showing up on HQ when it was approved and processed?
If the agent was promoted between the levels of 85% - 95%, Contracting assumes that they could potentially qualify for the Slingshot bonus. To accurately qualify all potential agents for the bonus, HQ, and Opt! need to remain unchanged until after the qualifying period is over. After the qualifying period is over (which takes place around the third week of the month), commission and hierarchy will go back through and update all outstanding profiles.
NOTE: If the agent did not qualify for the Slingshot bonus in the month they were promoted, please submit a ticket to Contracting, and we will update their profile early.
